Pakistani’s women cricket team leaves for England today

LAHORE: Pakistani’s national women cricket team will leave for England today to play three ODIs and three T20s with England women team.

Chairman PCB Shaharyar Mohammad Khan approved the 15 member women team picked up by the Women’s National Selection Committee for England tour.

The selected players for England tour include Javeria Wadood, Bibi Nahida, Sidra Amin, Bismah Maroof, Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, Sana Mir, Nida Rashid, Iram Javed, Asmavia Iqbal Khokhar, Anam Amin, Sania Iqbal, Sadia Yousaf, Aiman Anwar, Sidra Nawaz (Wicket Keeper), and Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi.

The standby players are Rabiya Shah, Maham Tariq, and Ayesha Zafar.

The team managing the England tour include Ayesha Ashhar (Manager), Mauhtashim Rashid (Coach), Muhammad Azam Khan (Batting Consultant), Usman Hashmi (Analyst), Ibrar Ahmad (Trainer), and Rifat Asghar Gill as Physiotherapist.

The national women cricket team had to pass fitness test before the England tour. While Bismah Maroof passed the fitness test wonderfully, the players like Maham Tariq, Aiman Anwar, Iram Javed, Anam Amin, Alia Riaz, and Muneeba Ali Siddiqui failed to pass the test.

The fitness test performance of players including Javeria Wadood, Nida, Sadia Yousaf, Rabiya Shah, and Ayesha Zafar was average.

The performances of Sana Mir, Sidra Amin, Kainat, Sidra Nawaz, Nida Rashid, Asmavia Iqbal, Sania Iqbal and Nain Abdi were impressive.

The players who performed well in the fitness test will be given special incentives, and those who failed to pass the test will not be included in the team for England tour.
