WPC appeals JUI leadership to take notice of indecent remarks of Hamdullah

Islamabad (Online): The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) appealed to the leadership of JUI (F) to take notice of the incident of Senator Hafiz Hamdullah on a private news channel with a lady human rights defender, Marvi Sirmad and immediately cancel the membership of the Senator.

WPC has taken serious notice of the growing disrespect, intolerance and impertinence amongst men and women in the country, especially on media and places of high order that should actually be demonstrating role model-ship for the people of Pakistan.

MNA Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Secretary WPC, in her statement, expressed shock and deepest regrets on the behavior displayed by Senator Hafiz Hamdullah of JUI (F) on a private news channel with a lady human rights defender, Marvi Sirmad, during a discussion on an important issue of recent acts of honor killings.

Ms Malik said that the obnoxious behavior and language used by the Senator for a woman, was deplorable and absolutely unacceptable.

She further stated that Barrister Masroor, another panelist in the program should not have used derogatory remarks for Maulana Shirani, Chairman Islamic Ideology Council.

Ms Malik showed great concern about the growing disregard and lack of respect for each other in the society. She said that we, as Muslims, are bound to respect women regardless of our likes and dislikes, display patience, regard the elderly and show kindness to the younger ones.
